CANOPY is seeking a Part-Time Contract Event Programming Manager to cover our current Event Manager during maternity leave, beginning in November. This role will oversee the coordination and execution of member and partner events that enhance community engagement and strengthen CANOPY’s brand.

This is a part-time contractor position, ideal for someone who thrives in a flexible schedule while managing event logistics with precision and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

• Take over event leads once contracts have been signed and serve as the primary point of contact for clients and partners.
• Coordinate all event logistics, including finalizing details with hosts and vendors.
• Arrange rentals, catering, décor, and event staff as needed.
• Oversee event set-up, execution, and breakdown to ensure a seamless experience.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships to deliver high-quality events.
• Provide weekly updates to the senior management team on upcoming and completed events.
• Support the CANOPY team by occasionally covering community operations during events.

Experience Requirements

• Background in client-facing roles, ideally in events, hospitality, or community management.
• Bonus: proficiency with event tools and software (Google Workspace, Asana, Canva).

Contract Duration: Starting in November, covering maternity leave (exact duration to be confirmed).

Schedule: Part-time, with some evening event coverage required. Hours per week can be finalized based on availability and event calendar needs
