The role

In collaboration with the Sales, Pre-Sales, and Solutions teams, the Sr. IT/OT Solutions Consultant’s mission is to build strategic relations at all levels including and significantly expand our client's scope and portfolio of services with targeted industrial customers and prospects.

This mission includes key stakeholder relationships on both the IT and OT sides of the business – up to and including CxO’s, collaborating with sales on business and account development planning, sales and solution strategy definition, deal qualification, solution design, deal shaping, and management of multi-domain resources for complex solutions.

The Sr. IT/OT Solutions Consultant, in collaboration with their respective account team in our client, is responsible for establishing and building credibility with our client's strategic partners and defining joint account development strategies. This would include the partners' account management & engineering teams, as well as leveraging both internal & external expertise to expand our client's scope.

The Sr. IT/OT Solutions Consultant acts as a client advocate for bridging their IT / OT communication needs and ensures that proposed solutions are effective for the customer. Through wide technology insight and industry awareness, the Sr. IT/OT Solutions Consultant uses innovative technical sales tactics to guide and influence clients on our client's smart industries portfolio

Responsibilities

  • Be a Strategic Business Enabler: Smart Industries is a strategic focus of our client, with a strong growth objective for our client's OT-centric business. You will be supporting the business development and innovation program activities with our client's customers and collaborating closely with your global colleagues, mainly in Europe.
  • Be a Client Engagement Leader: As a Senior Smart Industries & IIoT Solutions Consultant, you work with customers at all levels (operations engineer to C-level) to advise on the digital industry business
  • optimization and digital business transformation especially related to IT/OT integration; smart manufacturing; and transformation into data-driven organizations.
  • Be a Consultative Sales Engineer: You will engage both existing clients and new prospects with their digital challenges using a consultative sales methodology: running workshops and developing solutions strategies to deliver against clients’ business outcomes (such as operational efficiency, sustainability performance, and safety & compliance). You will co-innovate, develop, and present business proposals: supporting the sales of Smart Industries-focused consulting engagements, integrated solutions, and managed services.
  • Be a Trusted Advisor: As a consultative sales expert, you will use a combined business and technical approach to industrial challenges and act as a trusted advisor to your clients; creating roadmaps, PoC’s/PoV’s, and pilots, and discovering new use cases and value propositions.
  • Be an IT/OT Bridge: You will facilitate client discussions and engagements bridging the critical IT / OT business needs and technical requirements. As the coordinator in front of the customer, you will be supported by additional technical delivery consultants and the partner ecosystem with the required expertise.
  • Be a Vertical Expert: You have expertise in manufacturing, logistics, and/or energy operations from business and technology perspectives and apply this to inspire and create credibility with clients. You have a business understanding of traditional manufacturing processes and industrial protocols and are skilled in defining solutions that improve efficiency and productivity, and drive innovation.
  • Be a Pre-sales Solutions Expert: You have extensive technical engineering knowledge and experience with industrial solutions, including the integration of advanced technologies such as Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), digital connectivity in industrial / OT environments, applied industrial artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), cloud and edge compute application architectures, and cyber security for OT.

Objectives and Activity

  • Support business development efforts – including customer requirements analysis, business case ROI, solution design, service costing, and proposal writing / presenting.
  • Provide operational consultancy and advice on commercially viable scenarios on Industry 4.0/5.0 journeys for new and prospective customers.
  • Bring digital manufacturing thought leadership and customer inspiration.
  • Advise on IT/OT approach including design, implementation, training, and operational governance.
  • Organize workshops with various global business and technical stakeholders.
  • Define and lead assessments with factory teams.
  • Guide clients on developing and transforming a secure digital infrastructure for OT as an underpinning enabler for IIoT use cases, including Industrial LAN, Private 5G/LTE, and OT Cyber Security.
  • Help our client's manufacturing and logistics customers be more data-driven with new/enhanced industrial data sources that empower the capability to execute data-driven
  • decisions in real time.
  • Actively position and sell business consulting engagements such as innovation workshops, strategy consulting, migration/transformation, and data/digital management.
  • Engage and develop trust with customers and colleagues. Work in a virtual team environment across multiple locations and geographies.
  • Grow and develop ecosystems with internal partners, e.g. business units, labs, and innovation centers and external startups, customer, and/or industry research centers.

Education

  • Required: degree in industrial science, engineering, or other relevant field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Preferred: graduate-level degree
  • Accreditation/certifications in areas of industrial and technical expertise

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience within an industrial context and directly engaging in industry 4.0 digital transformation.
  • Experience in the design, improvement, and development of digital transformation solutions and innovative solutions.
  • Experience in manufacturing strategies and organization and data-driven optimizations.
  • Knowledge in industrial and automation processes (manufacturing, oil & gas, chemical, energy, mining, etc.) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) like microcontrollers, PLCs, HMIs, SCADAs, and others.
  • Significant understanding and application of industrial communication protocols; modbus RTU, modbus TCP/IP, Profinet, Profibus, OPC-UA, Io-Link, etc.
  • Experience working with IIoT middleware/platforms like PTC Thingworx, AG Software (Cumulocity), Litmus, and other cloud/on-premises environments for industrial projects.
  • Overall knowledge about OT landscape, vendors, and technologies like Siemens, Schneider Electric, Bosch, Honeywell, Aveva, General Electric, Rockwell Automation, Johnson Controls, etc.
  • Understanding of the major IIoT players & solution providers, and familiarity with connectivity technologies: 2G/3G/4G/5G, LPWA (LTE-M, Nb-IoT, LoRaWAN), Mobile Private Networks (LTE/5G), OT LAN, etc.
  • Experience with designing and deploying cyber security and digital network infrastructure in an OT/industrial environment with OT Cybersecurity standards like IEC 62443, NERC-CIP,
  • ISO27019, etc.
  • Background in hands-on technical architecture, data operations or data service management.
  • Experience in running innovation workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in working with C-level and executive profiles.
  • Proven experience in positioning and executing Data/Digital strategy initiatives.
  • Good understanding of industrial technology trends and data strategies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • French and/or Spanish skills are a plus.
  • Consistently delivering successful results as a self-driven, transparent, and dynamic leader, and team player
