As a Fixed Assets Accountant on the Accounting team, a typical day for you will include:

• Performing assigned monthly closing activities, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, accrual and expense schedules, variance analysis & commentary, and monthly reporting schedules. Ensuring compliance with GAAP and Company policies and procedures

• Reviewing invoices coded to Fixed Asset accounts and other accounts to ensure proper treatment

• Reviewing and recording capitalization of labor costs for internal development projects in accordance with the Company’s capitalization policy and GAAP

• Preparing and recording monthly depreciation and amortization entries

• Maintaining the fixed asset system and sub-ledgers including asset additions, disposals, and transfers. Reconcile SL to GL

(Required qualifications)

• Experience: 2-3 years in fixed assets accounting

• Skills:

  • ERP/financial system working knowledge

  • Intermediate level knowledge of Excel is required

  • Lease accounting system experience preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment that is deadline driven

  • The ability to write reports, analysis, business correspondence, and procedural documents is critical

• Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting

• Schedule / in-office requirements: Hybrid in Waco or Irving, TX
