JOB DESCRIPTION: LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

FLSA STAUS: EXEMPT

REPORTS TO: MANAGER OF LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

WORK STATUS: FULL TIME

LOCATION: DALLAS, TX

This role offers a hybrid work model, with a core requirement of three days a week on-site in our Addison office and the flexibility to work remotely on the other two days, with the option to work in-person on an as-needed basis.

Key Duties:

  • Provide administrative support for training programs, including scheduling sessions and managing logistics.
  • Assist in creating the curriculum for various training needs
  • Assist in maintaining and updating Learning Management System (LMS) records.
  • Support the development and organization of training materials and e-learning content.
  • Help track and report training participation, assessments, and feedback.
  • Coordinate onboarding training for new hires and ensure they receive required learning resources.
  • Assist with in-person and virtual training sessions by managing setup, materials, and technical support.
  • Collaborate with team members to gather feedback and update training content as needed.
  • Research and recommend learning resources to enhance training programs.
  • Help organize and support workshops, seminars, and other learning events.
  • Provide logistical support for travel arrangements related to training at various airport locations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education, training, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a learning and development or training role.
  • Familiarity with eLearning development tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with subject matter experts.
  • Understanding of learning principles and training methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986.
  • Must pass a 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screen per airline and/or company regulations.



Required Software and Tools Experience:

  • Microsoft Office and standard classroom and office equipment (PC skills are needed to support the development of training programs and materials).
  • Virtual webinar programs such as Zoom or similar applications.
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS) experience; Vairkko, Litmos or Learning
  • Experience Platform (LXP) for training delivery and reporting. *optional

Miscellaneous Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to pass a 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screen as required by airline regulations and company policies.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1968.
  • Southern Airways participates in E-Verify.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Computer, office equipment, phone skills.
  • Ability to work within a 24/7 operation, including holidays.
  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements related to aircraft weight limitations before and during employment.

Work Environment:

  • Day to day you will work from our office in Dallas, TX
  • Approximately 50% travel will be required.
