About the Role

The Uber Global Relocation & Immigration (GRI) team is looking for a regional immigration program manager to own immigration service delivery for the EMEA and APAC regions. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring regional immigration compliance and a great experience for Uber stakeholders, relocating employees and assignees in these regions.

This Immigration Program Manager for EMEA & APAC will report directly to the GRI Global Immigration Program Manager. GRI develops and manages the global mobility programs that get our people where they need to go–in the right way. We offer efficient and compliant global mobility programs that support the global movement of talent and their families.

In this role you will partner closely with key regional and global stakeholders across the GRI team, Talent Acquisition, HR, business leaders and Uber's external GRI vendor partners to lead the immigration program for EMEA and APAC, ensuring regional compliance and a great stakeholder experience.

What You'll Do

1. Partner across the GRI team to design and implement GRI immigration services to support Uber's international talent needs, focusing on the EMEA and APAC regions.

2. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with regional stakeholders across Talent Acquisition and HR to strategically position GRI’s immigration services as a key enabler to achieving their international talent priorities.

3. Stay informed about regulatory changes and proactively develop regional immigration strategies to support global/regional talent needs and support GRI policies.

4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a consistent approach to policy implementation and compliance across the region, aiming for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Ensure regional immigration compliance.

5. Lead GRI’s immigration support for key regional projects such as new entity set up, maintain legal readiness, mergers and acquisitions, re-orgs, partnering with key internal cross-functional partners and Uber’s immigration vendor

6. You will be the escalation point for operational matters that cannot be addressed by Uber’s People Operations team or Uber’s vendor on-site support and will be responsible for identifying appropriate, scalable solutions and ensuring learnings are incorporated for continuous program improvement

7. Lead global projects that support the immigration program and/or other GRI services

8. Continuously educate key stakeholders through immigration resources, process flows, and procedures. Provide regular stakeholder trainings

9. Lead regional relationship with Uber’s immigration vendor. Partner with them to develop and execute the regional immigration strategy. Ensure case SLA’s within respective regions are being met, address case escalations, monitor regional invoices/billing

10. Continuously review key program metrics to identify and execute program and process improvements to innovate and increase speed, efficiency and quality, while automating and reducing overall program costs.

Basic Qualifications

  1. 5+ years of relevant EMEA and/or APAC experience in global mobility program management (preferably in an in-house/corporate environment) working across immigration, relocation and tax
  2. Experience managing a vendor to support a multi-region outsourced global mobility program
  3. Motivated self-starter, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing business needs
  4. Strategic and consultative with advanced interpersonal and project management skills
  5. Passionate about customer/client success with a track record to prove it

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Technical working knowledge of immigration, relocation and tax mobility matters across with EMEA and APAC regions
  2. Experience in mobility program design and development preferred
