Position Title: PBX Operator

Resort and Location: The Grandview at Las Vegas

Department: Front Desk/PBX

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Front Desk Manager/ Asst. FD Manager/MOD

Shifts: Swing shift

Position Summary:

The PBX Operator is primarily responsible for answering and directing calls through the use of phone operating systems and HOTSOS. The position ensures guest satisfaction by maintaining a pleasant, cheerful tone of voice while communicating over the phone headset.

Core responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Answer all calls coming into the switchboard in a timely manner.
  • Assist guests (both internal and external) with questions regarding the facilities, outlets and amenities.
  • Route guest calls to the appropriate room and/or employee.
  • Remove incoming faxes from the main fax machine and distribute to the appropriate area.
  • Quickly respond to guest requests in a timely and friendly manner.
  • Monitor all emergency calls and alert management.
  • Assist engineering dispatch.
  • Report any damages, hazards, repairs and any suspicious individuals in areas they don’t belong.
  • Set wake up calls as requested by guests
  • Maintains a friendly, professional, cheerful and courteous demeanor always
  • Always Ensures Outstanding customer care
  • Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Position Requirements (Skills/Abilities):

Experience:

One year of hospitality-related experience is desired. Timeshare or Resort experience highly desirable. Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; communicate effectively at all levels; and demonstrate the ability to analyze and resolve problems. Bilingual skills a plus.

Education: High School diploma or GED required.

Flexible Scheduling: Must be able to work Evenings, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is required to use his/her hands and fingers to feel, and reach for objects of various sizes, shapes and weight. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
