Position Title: Rooms Control

Resort and Location: The Grandview at Las Vegas

Department: Front Desk

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Front Desk Manager/Asst. FD Manager/MOD

SHIFTS AND DAYS OFF MAY VARY

Position Summary:

This position plays an essential role in supporting front desk operations by assigning rooms to pending reservations and last-minute bookings while managing daily check-in and check-out procedures. Additionally, the team ensures all housekeeping-reported clean rooms are accurately updated in the system and verifies that scheduled cleanings are properly assigned. They oversee Out of Service (OOS) room management, placing, releasing, and maintaining the OOS report, while keeping staff informed about returning inventory. Effective communication with housekeeping is maintained to promptly address room moves, early departures, and stayovers for timely cleaning. The role also includes managing maintenance room holds (placing/releasing).

Specific Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • This position must navigate the room matrix proficiently to ensure that all pending reservations have rooms assigned and making sure 2 bedroom are assigned and locked.
  • Perform daily check-outs and assist with check-ins.
  • This position has close interaction with the front desk, reservations and housekeeping departments to support room assignments and inventory control.
  • Keeping upper management informed with current and projected room inventory and alerting management if any dates are getting close to getting overbooked.
  • Answering all questions and reviews from all SiteMinder and Airbnb reservations websites.
  • Always Ensures Outstanding customer care.
  • Ensure safety by following guest check in and security procedures and reporting suspicious activity to security, manager, or MOD.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management outside normal functions of inventory control.

Position Requirements (Skills/Abilities):

Experience:

One to Three years of hospitality - front desk or inventory related experience is required. Timeshare or Resort experience highly desirable. Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; communicate effectively at all levels; and demonstrate the ability to analyze and resolve problems. Must possess a high level of computer software experience, especially Excel and Word.

Education: High School diploma or GED required.

Flexible Scheduling:

Must be able to work Evenings, Weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), on-call and Holidays.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is required to use his/her hands and fingers to feel, and reach for objects of various sizes, shapes and weight.

The employee will occasionally be required to climb a step ladder or balance and, to talk, hear and/or smell. The employee must regularly push, pull, lift and/or move 10-25 lbs. And occasionally push, pull, lift and/or move 50 or more pounds with assistance. Specific Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus in various settings. Good Customer Service skills are a must.
