We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team at HONK. The Staff Accountant will play a pivotal role in our financial operations, collaborating with the Controller to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, meticulous reconciliation of accounts, and effective participation in the audit process.

Key Responsibilities

Spearhead the preparation of journal entries during month-end closing, and execute comprehensive daily, monthly, and annual bank and general ledger account reconciliations.
Apply payments received to correct client account invoices daily, and reconcile any unapplied credits, ensure all payments were properly accounted for.
Review outstanding invoices for collections; ensure all outstanding items were valid.
Collaborate with the Controller on special projects, contributing to month-end closure procedures and the implementation of updated accounting policies and protocols.
Process invoices for wire/ach/check disbursement, ensure all necessary review and approvals has been performed.
Assist in resolving payables issues, verify payment statuses, and recommend action steps if necessary
Conduct thorough analysis of financial transactions to identify and rectify inaccuracies.
Uphold a rigorous monthly reporting schedule, cultivating and maintaining a range of audit schedules.
Generate ad-hoc reports as necessitated by management, providing essential insights into financial dynamics.

Preferred Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2+ years experience managing and processing financial information.
Demonstrate a solid grasp of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle) is preferred.
Showcase adeptness in utilizing data analysis tools and exhibit advanced proficiency in Excel.
Display exceptional problem-solving skills, accompanied by strong analytical capabilities.
Exhibit a preference for navigating high-growth startup environments characterized by evolving policies and procedures.
